Guide Me
We know that the majority of people admit that supplying artwork for printing can get a little bit complicated. Our team are on hand to help you whatever your question or issue. We’ve produced this guide, to highlight the most common subjects when it comes to supplying your artwork. Order deadlines...
What file formats do you accept?
We accept many different file formats. Our preferred format is PDF X1a files however we also accept Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Indesign, Adobe Illustrator, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Publisher and Microsoft Powerpoint documents. We do not accept Quark Express, Pages or Coral Draw files, unless they have been converted into a PDF file. Print Bleed
The bleed area of your design is an additional margin of 3mm to the final trimmed size on each side of your document. An area of bleed is essential when printing any document. The bleed area is there purely for trimming purposes. Any images or text falling inside the bleed area is very likely to be trimmed off. We recommend any important information is at least 3mm inside the bleed line. Use our size guide on the right to help you set up your documents. You can send us your print artwork...
Templates
Are you designing a piece of artwork for print and require a template? We have a range of templates in Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Indesign format. If you require like a specific template send an email to info@printmeit.com or telephone 01207 247 000 and we will email you the file. Resolution
We require a resolution of 300dpi for all paper and card print jobs. If you are supplying large format files for outdoor banners or pull up banners we recommend a resolution of at least 150dpi. Colours
Please supply your job files in CMYK mode. Your computer monitor shows colours in RGB whereas printers print using CMYK colours, so please bear this in mind when you are designing your artwork. Colours created in RGB mode generally reproduce differently to the same colours in CMYK. We do not print pantone colours, however we will endeavour to replicate pantone colours if supplied with the correct reference. Specific jobs requiring pantone colours can be ordered on request at an additional charge. Brochures and Folded Leaflets
We require brochures and folded flyers to be sent as paginated printers pairs, ie a 12 page brochure or magazine must be sent as 6 spreads of 12 and 1, 2 and 11, 10 and 3, 4 and 9, 8 and 5, 6 and 7. If you are unable to paginate your documents we also provide a low cost pagination service. Fold Lines
Please ensure that your fold lines are in the correct places. We have templates available for you to use should you require them. Please note that programmes such as Publisher and Word do not put their fold lines in the correct positions for our printing. We will ensure your fold lines are in the correct places. Fold lines should not be drawn on the artwork as these lines will be reproduced when printed. Embedded Fonts
Fonts must be embedded into your design. We cannot be held responsible if your fonts are not printed correctly if you have not embedded them. Do not assume that we have your font on our system if you have not embedded them. Double sided printing...
If you submit only one design we will assume that this is to be printed single sided with the other side blank. If you require the same artwork printed on both sides you must upload two different files called side1 and side2. Last minute changes to your artwork...
Once you place your order your files should be your finalised file ready for print. If after you receive your proof and require any changes to the copy you will be required to pay for another file check. It is important that you submit proof read copy before you send files. This is to ensure that our costs remain low for all our valuable clients. |
